Step III

eScope for Roofing – Residential

eScope Roofing Residential

eScope AI™

eScope automatically populates a written Scope of Work and Line Items with AI generated detail traditionally recommended and professional written by trade consultants.

If your bid project includes eScope Roofing – Residential, the sowTool™ will be active and can be used to assist in building a professional scope of work. User information provided here include critical details required to build a scope or work and provide contractors with configuration data for pricing products and expected performance requirements for installing a new roof on your home.

Alternatively, users can follow Parts I & II below to manually prepare a scope or work and line items. . .

Users are redirected to the Scope or Work page after saving eScope™ solutions.

Part I – Scope of Work

Written Scope of Work

Written Scope

Users can edit the scope of work (SOW) to fit homeowner requirements with and without eScope. Information provided in the SOW details the primary build specification and homeowner expectations. Keep the scope specific to the primary construction requirements to avoid contractors bundling prices under a single rate.

The Scope of Work must be committed before contractors can view the details.

Use Line Items and Addendums for all other price detail

Saving the Scope or Work may redirect users to the Line Items page.

Part II – Line Items

Homeowner Line Items

Line Items

Line Items are critical to obtaining construction bids for apples to apples comparison. They allow us to separate primary construction cost from build options, alternative process methods or material recommendations that often confuse buyers. In addition, this is where professionals obtain rates on potential change orders often hidden before construction begins.

Line Items may also be used in combination with Addendums that detail other project requirements not in the main scope.

Line Items must be committed before contractors can view the item details.

Saving the Line Items may redirect users to the Homeowners dashboard.

Step IV

Add / Invite Project Users

Add User

Steps:

  1. Select a user type to add new users
  2. Enter contact name and email
  3. Select “Invite Now’ to send invitation*
  4. Send or resend user invitations

* Invite now will automatically send the user an invitation immediately upon adding the user.

Project administrators are automatically added to bid project on first use (page may refresh). Homeowner administrators may invite a relative or professional to assist in bid project setup. However, project details for this user may not be available in the invitation received by email.

Contractor Submission

Contractor Bid Prices

Contractors submit bid prices in a secure digital environment to assure confidential transmissions. All construction bid submissions are managed through individual contractor dashboards.

Contractors have access to the Project Summary, Scope and Line Items but access to price data is restricted to only their bid submissions.

Note: The pages used by Contractors for bid submission intentionally resemble the Consumers’ Scope and Line Item pages.

Step V

Bid Submission Review

Construction Bid Submissions
Contractor bid rates are presented side-by-side for comparison as each contractor commits their bids. Progress indicators may not be active until enough entries are displayed.

Once all bids have been received, users can download the bid spreadsheet (.xlsx) and transfer project pricing to the desktop in two clicks [export & import].

Budget Management

Users must check the box for each column of prices they want to compare.

Prices are presented as interactive tables where the final project budget can be configured from pricing and options contractors provided digitally.

bid budget configuration
The values on this page can be edited by users without effecting contractor submissions. Data also includes rates for trade standard analysis (ie: eScope for Roofing-displayed), construction management fees common in commercial applications and review or adjustment of contingency rates often added to construction project budgets with adjustable percentages and miscellaneous managed / unmanaged expenses.
