Frequently Asked Questions

What trades are supported?

RFQGuides Electronic Construction Bid Submission platforms provides a simple bid format that can be used for any trade or trade specialty project.

How much does it cost to process a construction bid electronically?

Prices range from fixed pricing for simple bid projects starting at $99 for residential and $149 for commercial projects. Other price options include per user/project pricing for consolidated multi-level bid processing and subscription based solutions.

Do contractors have to pay to submit a bid?

No. General bid submission is by invitation only where project members use an invitation code to access bid project(s). and there is no cost to contractors ly speaking.

Also See ‘Contractor Solutions’

I'm a contractor, who sees my price quotes?

Only the contractors and buyers’ team. Contractor data, suppliers, price estimation tools and details are isolated from Bid Project data.

Also See “Buyers’ Team”

Does RFQ solutions work on mobile devies?

Yes, the platform is fully responsive to the device size. However, the user interface presents a considerable amount of data best viewed and operated in a desktop environment.

I'm a buyer, who can see contractor price quotes

Only the “buyers team” can see contractor bid submissions – individually or in side-by-side comparisons.

I received an RFQGuides email - what is it?

Email may list RFQGuides or a Bid Project in the ‘From” field of the message. RFQGuides does not use random marketing campaigns so this is likely an individual or firm who has already been in contact with you (having a valid email) and/or done business with your firm.

Opt-in email messages will always contain ‘No-Reply” in the ‘From” field of the message.

Contractor rate analysis does not work

The rate analysis on Contractor’s Dashboard requires annual subscrptions and defaults uncalculated values for users logged in as a Bidder. This feature must be activated in the Contractor’s Dashboard Settings. When activated the API combines contractor (anonymously) price data to industry wide price analysis.

What's included in price analysis?

Only raw price data, project type and trade details are exchanged in performing analysis of industry prices. Price analysis reporting or graph displays isolate data related to both the trade and type of project selected for review.

Why doesn't the Budget Configuration tool total price quotes?

Select the checkbox above each column of prices. Select from both Line Item and Base Bid tables. Use the checkbox in Miscellaneous Expense Items to apply Managed and Unmanaged expenses and Construction Management Rate to contractor totals.

How do I include Managed/Unmanaged expenses?

Select a Managed and Unmanaged value cell under Miscellaneous Expense Items, enter a value in the dialog box and click OK button. Selecting the checkbox in Miscellaneous Expense Items will apply Managed and Unmanaged expenses to all contractor totals.

What type of members make up the Buyers Team

There are four user roles that may be assigned as part of the “Buyers Team”. Each role has a different user access level and authorization to interact with project data. User roles include the Buyer, Assistant(s), Consultants, Designers (in some cases) and Ownership. Buyers have full admin capabilities where Assistant(s), Consultants, Designers have limited functionality and Ownership role is review only.
